Tequila...

Hoʻopuka ʻia: 31.01.2019

What would a trip through Mexico be without a visit to the city that gave the drink its name. Unfortunately, we procrastinated a bit and only arrived after dark. There is no camping in Tequila, so finding a parking space was a bit more difficult. In the end, we found a spot behind a French motorhome right in front of the largest Jose Cuervo distillery. It's generally a safe place. However, now we also know how many trucks deliver there at night and when shift change is. It's always nice when the semi truck thunders through the bedroom. On cobblestone.

Nevertheless, well-rested, we explore the beautiful downtown area before all the organized tours start and enjoy a good breakfast right at the plaza.

As the city slowly fills up with visitors, we drive a bit further to visit the "Tres Mujeres" distillery. A noble family business dedicated to the highest quality. In this context, it should be noted that the alcoholic material that we know as Tequila in Germany has absolutely nothing in common with the fine drink here.

The tour costs €1.25 including tasting seven tequilas of all ages. Since only I did the tour, Mica has to drive. I'm taking care of the bought bottle "Anejo".
