We parked the car in St Agnes. A nice driver gave us a ride... great...
After Holywell Beach, we climbed up to Penhale Point. From here, there was a military site on the left. There were also many old mine shafts and quarries here. Therefore, it is strongly advised not to leave the path.
There is a single old farmhouse on Ligger Point, wonderful. But the biggest surprise today was the first view of Perran Beach. Truly overwhelming. The path along the endless beach is called the 'most beautiful beach walk in Cornwall' in my hiking guide. The beach is over 3km long.
At the end is the town of Perranporth, the largest settlement on the coast between Newquay and St Ives. We treated ourselves to lunch there.
We continued with old mine shafts and quarries. There were also old mine dumps that we crossed.
Back in St Agnes, we ended the evening. Near our accommodation, we had a nightcap at the Old School, an old schoolhouse.
Question to Juliet: Are these wild orchids that I photographed?
The answer came very quickly via email: no, but now I know what they look like
