So here it goes 😃 I'm back in Johannesburg. Behind me are 12 days of safari and adventure in Botswana, Zimbabwe, and Kruger National Park. And what can I say...it was simply amazing. The time was sometimes really exhausting but it was totally worth it and I'm very glad I did the tour. After my day in Pretoria, we started the next morning at 5am. A time when I had to get up more often during these days...the early bird and all that 😂.
In the first week, together with two other Germans and an Austrian, we went to Botswana and Zimbabwe to see the Victoria Falls. Our guide David was a cool guy who always took good care of us. Overall, a large part of the tour consisted of driving. The distances between the stops were sometimes quite large. But even here, all the driving was worth it. The campsites where we stayed overnight were always great and there was always something to discover and do 😃
The highlight of this tour was visiting the Victoria Falls and my first safari in Chobe National Park in Botswana.
After a wonderful week, we went back to Johannesburg for one night. The next morning we headed back to Kruger National Park. Again, I can only say, simply amazing! Observing animals in such an environment is simply incredible. Here too, we had a great guide named Llouyd who could tell us so much about the wildlife and nature. My group consisted of 3 people for this part of the trip. Me and two Brazilians. After long and beautiful days in the park, the days always ended with a delicious meal and a glass of wine by the campfire 😊.
I don't want to write much more about the tour at this point. I think the pictures are more interesting anyway 😂😃.
Until Wednesday, I am now in Johannesburg. From here, I will be driving south to the coast to Durban to spend a few relaxing days ☺️.
Oh yeah, I have one more thing. I was able to see the Big 5. Even though it took a lot of luck, especially with the rhinoceroses and the leopard 😃.
