Due to the rescheduling, it happened in a scenario that was not foreseeable beforehand that two alpine ski events would take place simultaneously on the same day. The ladies' giant slalom in Yongpyong and the downhill in Jeongseong. The crew was split, some positions were abandoned on the downhill, and some camera operators from ORF were rented at short notice for the giant slalom. However, they had to leave the slope at half past three to film the also postponed biathlon afterwards. These people were then to be replaced by some camera operators who would come from the speed event after the first 30 skiers. A truly Herculean task. We were also reduced to a minimum in the background, so we had to make the inspection from the podium and we were allowed to test camera positions beforehand.
The race itself was not impressive from a Swiss perspective. Disappointing across the board. In the finish area, one could observe more suffering than joy. Shiffrin, the actual favorite, won in the end.
After the race, it was subtly high up to the RS start, dismantling everything and loading it onto the snow groomer, and then reloading and starting to install at the slalom start. Today we were home an hour later, so we went to Kreuzer for dinner and then it was time to sleep again, so that we are ready for a medal from Wendy Holdener tomorrow.
