Hoʻopuka ʻia: 25.04.2023
Tour data: Distance 45.95 km, max. 46.6 km/h, travel time 2:07 hrs.
Weather: mostly dry, it rained briefly twice, windy to very windy and quite chilly between 5 and 8°.
Now the first 3 restful nights are already over and it's time to say goodbye to Barbara and Dieter. Thank you very much for the wonderful days I was able to spend with you.
Today, however, only a small tour awaits me and I will even be accompanied by Dieter on the bike for the first few kilometers. Although the cycle paths allow for riding side by side, I don't dare to. If I look around in the area, it's quite possible that I'll make a swerve and then we both end up in the ditch. So I mostly ride behind Dieter with a safe distance.
As soon as I'm alone, it starts to rain. I have already dressed appropriately as a precaution, so it doesn't bother me that much. And a few minutes later, it's already over again.
Then I follow a disused railway track for a long time on the cycle path. The route also takes me on a road, but it is hardly used.
As the last place south of the Elbe, I pass through Winsen (Luhe) and soon after I reach the ferry. It has just arrived and is boarding the passengers. Without stopping, I can also get on the ferry and off we go to the northern bank. At the same time, it starts raining again and it is quite windy.
I arranged to meet Nicole at 2 p.m. and it's only about 11:30 a.m. So I go to a nearby bakery where I also get a hot chocolate. Since Nicole writes shortly afterwards that she is already home earlier, I pedal the remaining few kilometers and reach my destination in the sunshine.

To my great joy and surprise, Nicole has arranged tickets for us to a concert at the Elbphilharmonie. The building itself is worth a visit. In addition, a great concert with fantastic acoustics.
Thank you very much, dear Nicole, for this invitation. It was an unforgettable experience and a special highlight on my journey.
