What did we buy in Hamburg, provisioned as sailors say and that was just the beginning!
Still missing 16 kg of flour, fruits and vegetables, herbs, and more.
Of course, it's not just any ordinary flour, it should be spelt flour, wholemeal spelt, rye flour, wholemeal rye, and wholemeal wheat, and well, also wheat flour.
Anyone who, like me, has fallen in love with baking bread during the eventful past years knows what I'm talking about!
Unfortunately, flour is the new toilet paper, so it's never available and jealously guarded. "Only two per household!!"
It's a problem when the household is sailing to Iceland and you can't expect to find a lot of flour on the way.
So we stopped everywhere between Hamburg and the shipyard in Glückstadt and looked for flour, and in various stores we found "Only two...!"
After a lot of carrying and stowing, everything is ready.
In the meantime, we have sailed from Glückstadt to Heligoland and at 10.00 p.m. we are heading to Peterhead in Scotland.
From afar, I can already hear the Scots calling "Only two...!"
