„You have 5 minutes left for check-in“, explained an annoyed airport employee and sent us to the quick check-in. Due to the everyday traffic jam in Santiago, we were a bit tight on time to get to the airport for our flight to Calama. However, everything went smoothly and since the plane was already 30 minutes delayed, it was still within the timeframe. Arriving in Calama, we picked up the reserved rental car, stocked up on cash, food, and water, and headed to San Pedro de Atacama. There, we had wonderful excursions in the five days: salt lagoons with flamingos (in a salt lagoon -without flamingos- we let ourselves float like in the Dead Sea), Tatio Geysers, Valle de la Luna, Rainbow Valley, Termas de Puritama, and Salar de Atacama. We got incredible impressions of this impressive landscape in northern Chile.
