If I don't have anything better to do in the early evening, I watch 'Sila' on TV with the others. It's a daily series set in Turkey. At first, I thought it was from Mexico, which is always a guarantee for a super soap opera. But apparently the Turks can do it too. Sila is a young woman who was forced into marriage against her will. Initially, she and her rich sheikh couldn't stand each other, but then they fell in love. But they can't seem to be together. Dramatic entanglements, spiced with a pinch of intrigue. 80% close-ups of the otherworldly beautiful main actors with multifaceted facial expressions that reflect their tormented emotional world expressively. One cliché follows another. I only watch it for learning purposes because they speak relatively slowly. And because it's so fascinatingly cheesy. However, it's difficult to watch in peace and quiet, even though the other adults are also glued to the TV. Squeaky grandchildren, visits from family or friends, music from one of the front rooms, noise from the street – there's always something, usually not just one thing at a time.

Let me know if you want to know what happens next.

Today, the children in the project received their 'report cards', a brief assessment of their performance and, above all, their development over the past months. In the meantime, I helped to fill the backpacks that will be handed out on Thursday. So, the Christmas gifts that I have eagerly and successfully campaigned for. Many thanks again to all donors!

High humidity today, so it already feels like 30 degrees Celsius at 6 a.m. Gusty wind. Some rain in the evening.

Hallo Karin, ja, bekommen sie. Aber sie müssen den Test im Januar gleich nach den Ferien noch mal wiederholen. Da bin ich ja gespannt! LG
