Cornwall - the end of the island?!

Hoʻopuka ʻia: 22.07.2020

The south-westernmost tip of England is the area of Cornwall. A very idyllic area and an absolute holiday destination in England alongside the Lake District in the north.

Here we visited Land's End as the first stop. The end of the island?! Not really, but at least the southernmost point of the island. The place became famous because for decades people have made it a challenge to travel here from the north in Scotland with various modes of transportation. From a motorcycle from 1937 to cars, bicycles, wheelchairs, and lawnmowers, everything was used. Funny ideas.

We then went not far from here to the Minack Theatre, which has only been there for a few decades but it is very charming, wild and well-maintained. There are performances here as well, but unfortunately not much at the moment, so I had to miss out on my theatre experience. What a shame!

Lastly, we drove on small (and challenging!) roads to St. Michael's Mount. The special thing here is that there is a castle on an island that is accessible via a paved road, but can only be walked on during low tide! Since we were there during high tide, it was completely submerged. It must look really interesting otherwise.
