This day starts hot as well, but today only the children quickly jump into the pool in the morning, because we have a bit more on our agenda today.
Fredrik wanted to visit Monaco, which means about an hour's drive for us. Our route is stunning, we repeatedly drive longer stretches on coastal roads that offer us a great panorama. And then - while we are still trying to figure out on the map when we will cross the border to Monaco - we suddenly find ourselves right in the middle of it.
Since we didn't make a proper plan about what we actually want to see, we first try to get to the casino in Monte Carlo. That is not so easy, because Monaco seems to consist only of tunnels and one-way streets.
After we finally managed to get into a parking garage, we walk a bit through Monaco's beautiful parks, are amazed by the casino and the cars in front of it, and take a look at the yacht harbor. Finally, we get a city map at the tourist information and drive the racetrack. The streets are very narrow.
We continue to Nice. We eat fries at the promenade of the Hardrock Café, buy some vegetables for dinner, and sit briefly on the beach.
We are drawn towards the old town, but since the thermometer has now climbed to 36 degrees, we finally end up in Albert 1st Garden with a box of éclairs.
