Roadtrip 2.0 the first days
On Tuesday it was finally time to start our 2.0 roadtrip after getting new tires. Before leaving, we said goodbye to all our colleagues and the farmer. As soon as we were only 100 km away from Meningie, we suddenly had 26 degrees and pure sunshine. However, the evenings were still relatively cool. Sleeping in the car is still quite cozy =). From Meningie, we drove to Victor Harbour and made a stop at Goolwa Beach before. Upon arrival in Victor Harbour, we met an employee at the information center who was very excited that we are from Germany, as he could speak some German. Since April to October is whale season, we are a bit late to see whales, but we were lucky today on the first day of our trip and could see whales from a distance. As we did not start so early on the first day, we also looked for a sleeping place a bit earlier. (It gets dark around 6 pm) On the second day, we walked from Victor Harbour to Granite Island and circled the island. (total distance about 8 km) After that, we went to Parsons Beach, a famous surfing beach in the area. The waves here were really huge and there were a few surfers around. We ended the evening with a campfire in Deep Creek Conservation Park. We spent the next days in Deep Creek Conservation Park and went hiking there. The views there were simply beautiful. It also rained a lot, so some hiking trails were simply not passable because they had become too slippery.
