28.01.2020 - Day 33 - Tokyo, Japan

Hoʻopuka ʻia: 28.01.2020

🌧🌧☔️ what can I say... it rained heavily all day today and that at about 7 degrees. And what do you do in Tokyo with such weather? You take the subway 🚇 to the new Olympic Stadium for this year's Summer Games and walk past the big baseball stadium to the interesting Olympic Museum 😀. Of course, you also walk in the rain ☔️ for a long time in between.

And because once is not enough, today we also went to a Yakiniku restaurant to grill the best meat at our own table. Of course, not without putting on the ready-to-use bib 😉. However, unlike yesterday, when the restaurant was in the basement, we grilled today on the 9th floor with a great view of Tokyo at night

Anyone who knows me knows that I am not a friend of public transportation. But here in Tokyo, I have fallen in love with the local public transport system 😂. It all works incredibly smoothly and is also cheap. All trains and subways are also super punctual. But the best thing is that even though it feels like the population of Kaiserslautern is getting on and off at every stop, it is completely quiet. You only hear the announcements from the speakers, you don't hear anything from the passengers. They are all a bit strange, but we actually think the Japanese are pretty great. And that despite their face masks, which almost everyone wears here (at first, I thought half of Japan was working in surgery 😂😂). Even our waiter in the restaurant was wearing one... it was a bit hard to understand, the boy 😀.

So... by now, after taking the S-Bahn to my favorite station "Hamamatsucho", we have arrived back at the hotel. Tomorrow afternoon, we will then go to Kyoto on the Shinkansen 🚅 at 320 km/h
