Somehow we left our pitch a bit late today..... God knows why.
We didn't start driving until just before 12, heading towards the famous wandering dune in Arcachon, where the parking lot is a tourist rip-off, but we ended up only having to pay €4 for 2 hours instead of the advertised €8.
The dune is really impressive, like the sea forgot to wash away the sand. And when you finally reach the top, you, like me, have a bit of panic in your neck thinking about how to get back down. In the end, we had a lot of fun with Buster, just running down the huge sand pile ;-)
It was a bit like being in the desert..... Except there probably aren't as many tourists in one place there.
Onward to La Rochelle, with a stop for baguette supplies, and the navigation system shows an arrival time of 9pm.
I'm driving the last 75 kilometers. The roads are wide enough and mostly 2 lanes, so I think I can do it.....
In La Rochelle, the navigation system takes us through the narrowest streets of the city, just not to the destination.... Thomas is sweating a bit because I don't get how to look in which mirror with a 7m long car to avoid hitting anything 😂😂😂
But I manage to do it without dents or scratches.... Only the driver's mirror was folded in because I must have passed by some car a bit too closely.
Oh.... And we also bought 6 bottles of wine at a randomly discovered and hidden vineyard today. In the depths with a tasting and a vineyard owner who only spoke French.
But apparently we understood each other ;-)
