Noja to Somo

Hoʻopuka ʻia: 15.05.2019

The first half of today's route was essentially the feeder to the spectacular coastal path from Barrio San Miguel to Somo. Worth mentioning was the mountainous landscape in the background, which reminded us of the Allgäu region. In Galizano (near Barrio San Miguel), we were greeted with a local festival, which turned out to be a Cantabrian holiday. We continued and shortly afterwards reached the coastal path towards Santander. We made our way through woods, fields, and meadows, always just a few meters from the steep cliff, until we reached the beach of Somo. Here, we allowed our feet the freedom of going barefoot for the last two kilometers on the sand of the Atlantic. After a short break at the beach café, we continued to our accommodation. There, we were pleasantly surprised to find a beautiful country house with great interior, a garden, and a very warm welcome. It was the reward for 28, sometimes very challenging, kilometers.

Tolle Bilder von eurem Weg und den Stränden! Insgeheim habe ich meine Wanderstiefel schon geschnürt. Unsere Hochachtung, dass ihr den Monte Buciero überquert habt und nicht die Abkürzung genommen habt. Viel Spaß heute in Santander. Herzliche Grüße Toni
