Russian reality is a sublime, universal, ordered chaos. (Fyodor Mikhailovich Dostoyevsky)

It must be true if Fyodor says so...

After a longer absence here, now another entry.

The 'everyday life' now has a firm grip on us. We now have established routines and habits, which is quite pleasant after over a month on the move. Of course, there can still be no talk of a classic everyday life, as we discover something new every day.

Christina, Norman, and Arved arrived safely in Germany yesterday. After a visit to Kazan, they also visited Moscow, from where they flew back to Germany.

On Friday, Nelli, Vero's mother, will arrive in Omsk. Then our small, but actually quite large, three-room apartment will be full again.

On Sunday, we went to a football match. FK Irtysh Omsk plays in the third Russian league. Some things were very unusual compared to Germany. The stadium was completely covered and the pitch was covered with artificial turf. Both, of course, due to the climatic conditions here. The interest in the local club is very limited. Only about 250 spectators watched the game, which is remarkably little for a city with a population of one million. Ice hockey is clearly the main sport in Omsk, which we also want to watch. In addition, there was no beer or sausage at the game. Only a chocolate bar vending machine and a coffee vending machine were available. In Germany, every village square has better catering. However, we didn't pay a single cent for admission, a pleasant difference to the aforementioned German village squares, where sometimes three euros are charged for admission. Overall, the game was a solid kick. The home team was superior to the guests from Irkutsk in many parts and deservedly won 2-0.

In addition, we were invited to have a meal. The hosts were three generations living under one roof in Omsk. Veronika's cousin, aunt (both 2nd degree), and her great aunt live together in their one-room apartment.

Best regards from Omsk,

Vero & Tim
