After an absolutely horrible night* on the night ferry, we arrived in Chumphong and transferred to the bus to Bangkok.
Then the horror continued because the driver turned the air conditioning so high that I thought I was freezing. Fortunately, during the first break, I was able to get my sweater from my backpack, but then it was not necessary anymore because the sun came out and it was infinitely hot in the bus 😂 it was really terrible. We didn't sleep at all.. but the driver was great, he was on the phone and eating loudly the whole time.
In Bangkok, we had to take a taxi to the hostel and finally arrived there at 2 PM. Apart from the fact that I still felt like I was rocking in my head and it was just really weird and I also had a headache, it got better quickly after an iced cappuccino.
We were able to check into our room, which was once again a shared room
and then we went to explore the city. First, we went to the MBK Center because one of us - now I can write it - dropped her phone from the balcony on Koh Tao and was luckily able to get it repaired at the center (it wasn't me by the way)
We completely got caught up in this really insanely huge shopping center, where there is really EVERYTHING in 100 different versions, and first we tested the photo booths. You could also choose funny costumes for them.
Afterwards, we explored the arcade and went crazy on this dance thing (I can't remember what it's called right now) 🤩
Then we went to the CentralWorld, which is just a giant shopping center, but unlike the other one, it only consists of expensive brand stores. It's nice to look at, but we just walked through it quickly to go to the food market right in front of it.
Today we had rice with seafood. It was okay but too expensive (but we were very hungry and didn't feel like going any further) and it didn't compare to what we have eaten so far.
After that, we walked back to the hostel and bought breakfast for tomorrow at the shopping center around the corner. Unfortunately, most of the markets were already closed and today every way was just exhausting.
In the evening, we treated ourselves to a beer, took a shower, and now we're completely exhausted in bed.
In general, in our opinion, Bangkok is already worth it. It is a drastic difference compared to the islands, but still fascinating. Everything is just so incredibly big that you can't express it in pictures.
Horrornacht*: this ferry was rocking soooo abnormally much that you had to hold on to the bed frame because you were afraid of hitting your head against it. There were countless people in one room. It was hot, cold, hot again, cold again. The people there could not be quiet for a long time even though it was clear that people wanted to sleep there. After all, it was a dormitory. And generally, the ferry was really, really loud and I was just scared that the thing would tip over because it was rocking so much. I think it's cool that I did it once, but I wouldn't want to do it again. I don't know if I found flying or that worse 🙈
In this sense, hopefully good night and both of us ✨
