Instead, we drive on a bumpy track to the Crow Creek Mine. It was opened in 1896 and is still largely in its original condition. Today it belongs to a family who lovingly maintains it but doesn't change anything about the substance. Family celebrations can be held there and they are also prepared for weddings. The combination creates great insights and photo subjects.
In Girdwood there are no campsites, but a large parking lot where you can park your vehicle for $10 per night. In advance, we enjoy a beer at the bar of the Chair 5 restaurant before continuing at the table with burgers, pizza, and music (we also fed the jukebox). A walk rounds off the day before we park the vehicle in the aforementioned parking lot and end the evening with "Tschau-Sepp".
