After a quite exhausting day in Oslo, we decided to drive for a while. Eventually, we ended up on a fancy new rest area on the mountain in Tyinkrysset.
The next day (August 1st, just a reminder) was once again connected with another drive: we embarked on the scenic route #Sognefjellet and experienced various great adventures, uh I mean impressions, there. Above Sogndal, as is common in Norway along a fjord, there are many different mountains. In order to get a better overview of the fancy fjord and because the weather is so awesome for hiking, we decided to conquer the Stedejeåsen. With a lot of sweat and some breaks, we finally made it. The view over the fjord was worth the effort. As well as the small lake, which surprisingly is located on the summit of the mountain.
Since the day was not exhausting enough, we continued following the Sognefjellet. And what can I say? The route is amazing, you go on sweet serpentines to dizzying heights in the Jotunheimen National Park.
Although we didn't see any ice giants there, we can imagine that they prefer to hide from the many tourists. Instead, we saw a unique landscape. Thick ice, half-melted lakes, and a pleasant cold. Much better than you can imagine. And to make the day perfect, we stayed overnight at one of the beautiful stops on the route (#Liasanden) and ate pizza! A camping oven is great, you can even accept a hole in the pizza.
