After Mardi Gras is before Memphis, but Natchez as a stopover was definitely worth a stop. After having a delicious breakfast at WaffleHouse for the third time this morning and getting to know Grits, we made it very well 160 miles north to Natchez.
In glorious sunshine and still hot temperatures, we took a look at downtown Den Mississippi and the mighty paddle steamer. During a little tour, we stumbled upon the Natchez Brewing Co. There were many different types of beer, some of them brewed in the German style. Nadine was happy and then so was I :-)
We were invited to come back later, there was a quiz evening. We would have had no chance at the quiz, but we ordered a very delicious pizza and shared it. Our table became more and more crowded, we had a great evening with the locals... no joke, it was really fun. Now we have settled in the Days Inn and tomorrow we have our longest stage so far. On to Memphis!!!
