Zugerberg - the 'hill'

પ્રકાશિત: 20.04.2018

Admittedly, what would be called a really high mountain in some regions is only a hill here in Switzerland.

Like the Zugerberg. With its 'cute' 1039 meters above sea level.

For a beginner, it's good training. Starting with the right route between lush green meadows and then powering up a fairly steep gravel path. Then there's the first opportunity to enjoy the view of Lake Zug and the city of Zug.

Once we reached the top, we enjoy a typical Swiss meal. For Alex, a tomato soup and fish with rice, for me there's rösti with vegetables and, of course, cheese.
Now we're pretty exhausted. Even for Alex, the start of the year, we take the funicular back down towards the valley.

Zeitturm

Once down, we visit the landmark of the city of Zug: the Zeitturm. With indicators for hours and minutes, but also an astronomical unit, for weekdays, months, moon phases and even leap years, it is proof of Swiss watchmaking. The clockwork is of course not as delicate as in pocket and wristwatches.

The tower was also used as a hazard warning system due to its good view - in case of fire, enemies, etc.
