Have nothing planned

Friday, December 15th: Longtail boats are typical for Thailand and are used for everything, especially as ferries or fishing boats. Powered by a regular car or truck engine that is easy to repair. The whole thing sits on a long rod with the screw at the end. This makes it easy to navigate even in shallow waters. The colorful ribbons on the front of the stem are supposed to make the water spirits gracious...

There is also a small temple in every house. Here on Ko Libong, however, a majority of the approximately 4,000 residents are Muslims and there are a few mosques.

A tidal range of around 2 meters makes the stones visible that protect the coast from being eroded by the water. At night, fishermen with headlamps walk along in search of squid and mussels.

The water here recedes significantly twice a day, but there is no need to panic. However, since the disaster of 2004, there has been a tsunami evacuation system and corresponding signage on all islands, including here.

We've slowly gotten over the jet lag and tomorrow we want to explore the island a little.

sieht sehr schön aus bei Euch ! an den meist pittoresk geschmückten Longtails stört mich nur das Geknatter, der meist ohne Auspuffanlage oder Schalldämpfer verbauten Motoren
