The day starts off very relaxed, as we go to the beach again. It is beautiful as always. Initially, there is only one other couple at the beach besides us. But as the tide gets closer to our towel, we decide to head back home.
When we get back to the bungalow, we find an email from the German Embassy in Bangkok in our inbox. We receive this email because we have registered on the crisis preparedness list of the Federal Foreign Office. The main message of the email is that the situation with Corona is serious, unpredictable, and we should think about whether we are well prepared. So it's time for us to think about it. After doing some research, thinking back and forth, and having a few conversations with our home country, we decide to provisionally book a flight home for Friday, 03/20/2020. We are a little worried that all flights to Germany will be canceled. On the other hand, we want to avoid a hasty departure with the motto 'get out of here'. Also, because the coronavirus is not an issue here at all. The situation is therefore a bit absurd: We leave paradise early to go to the 'contaminated' Germany.
Otherwise, there's nothing else happening today. After having dinner at the bungalow, we go to sleep.
