Farewell to Stralsund

Saying goodbye to Strelasund and Stralsund wasn't that easy for me. But the journey is the destination and we were on the way to Travemünde – again.
We had enough time, why not stop off in Kühlungsborn and see what it's like there. It was a nice stopover. Again, endless beautiful houses and hotels. The bear really danced here. It was Open Monument Day and the VILLA BALTIC is there in Kühlungsborn. A very remarkable building! In front of it there was an impressive crowd of people who wanted to see the house from the inside. We have done without it and are keeping an eye on it online. There was still sea fog, which slowly dissipated, then the heat spread again. The detour was worth it.
But then we had to continue towards Travemünde. WISMAR was well on the way. Finding a charging station wasn't so easy - but it was eventually managed. We had enough time to look around Wismar. The marketplace is an ideal destination. A lot of things were reminiscent of the time of Swedish rule. So do some names in the catering industry. The OLD SWEDE is just one example. There is delicious food everywhere in the city – as well as many cafés. WATER ART is still special. I found the gargoyles particularly worth seeing. Not much is left of St. Mary's Church. At least someone made the effort to build the basic points.

Unplug the car and head to Travemünde. Here too, everything was still very full because of the great summer weather. Unfortunately, the vintage cars in the Brüggmanngarten were already on the move by the time we finally checked into the Hotel AJA, found a parking space and made our way there. The boardwalk was very busy - especially for the month of September. No beach bar had a free spot in the shade. So it was better to have something delicious in the hotel lounge. Beer and gin always go well. The beach was slowly emptying, and because the sun had already disappeared behind the horizon, it was getting too cold for me. So go to the hotel and relax.
