Now we made it. After the alarm clock rang at 03:30 am, we set off to Basel early.
Despite some turbulence, we arrived well in New York.
Even the customs inspection went smoothly, although the customs officers couldn't make much sense of the statement "Swiss cookies". However, the explanation of "Basler Läckerli" didn't clarify the confusion either. After a brief laughter, we were allowed to enter without any further ado.
After about two hours in subway stations that felt like 100 degrees hot, we found our hotel and checked in right away. But we didn't want to stay in the room for long, after all, we also want to see something!
So we decided to visit Times Square.
On the way there, we passed by a little snack bar, "Hot & Crusty" on the corner of Broadway and W 88 St. A small but fine restaurant with a really delicious burger! We can only recommend that.
After we had strengthened ourselves, we continued towards Times Square.
Once there, we were overwhelmed by all the lights and skyscrapers. A short visit to the Disney Shop and the M&M's World were of course also a must!
Glad for a cozy bed, we returned to the hotel and let the evening come to an end.
