Inside Out

During breakfast, we were able to observe some llamas. Of course, they were not freely roaming through the heath, but were unloaded in the parking lot for the "Heath Lama Trekking". Seven participants were already waiting, each taking a llama by the reins to hike with them through the heath. At first, it looked more like the llamas were taking a walk with the people: They confidently headed for trees and grass in the surrounding area that seemed tasty to the llamas, even though the human guides had a different goal in mind.
Then the group was finally on the move and we had to plan our day: Rain and thunderstorms were forecasted for today, and it was already raining in the morning. So we thought about what we could do in bad weather.

First, we went to the "wacky house" in Bispingen. The house is not only upside down on the outside, but the ceilings are also on the floor in all the rooms.

You can take some funny photos there, which most visitors eagerly took advantage of (including us).

The visit there was over faster than expected. So we continued to the outlet center in Soltau, also a good indoor activity. However, the bad weather never arrived and in the end, it was more sunny than rainy in the afternoon.

After our shopping, we continued to the next parking site in Oberhaverbek, which would be the starting point for our hike to Wilsede the next day.

Since the weather was still beautiful, we went on a shorter hike through the heath on a Heideschleifen trail.

The sky was getting darker and we walked a bit faster to avoid getting caught in the rain. But in the end, there were only a few drops and we made it back dry.

Along the way, we encountered our first heath sheep, although they were standing quite far from the edge of the trail.
