Austrian style with an American twist

Right from our first arrival in Seattle, we met some incredibly awesome people! Jon and Teri are definitely among them!

We were able to spend a few more days with them before we headed to Canada.

It was an absolutely amazing time with them! We cooked, drank, ate, and then cooked, drank, and ate again. Unpacked all sorts of Austrian recipes and prepared them in an American way.

Markus brewed beer, I baked bread; then we all went to a German butcher together. OMG! We missed that smell so much! Bacon! Leberkäse! Landjäger!

Jon simply said: 'Order whatever you want!!!' And as if he knew, he also gave me my favorite chocolate (Milka with hazelnuts!). Unbelievable!

So we had a proper American BBQ - with German sausages, homemade potato salad, and fresh (unfortunately oversalted) bread.

In the evening, we had 'Wiener Schnitzel' in an American way ;-)
With homemade spaetzle and hunter sauce.

The next morning, we served Kaiserschmarren with apple compote, and before going to bed, Jon showed us the most legendary movie ever ;-) ATTACK OF THE LEDERHOSEN-ZOMBIES.

An Austrian movie that is just crazy!

We thank Jon and Teri for everything and hope to see them again sometime! Maybe next time in Austria!
