Our last week went by so quickly and turned everything we had gotten used to upside down. Last Tuesday, the decision was made that we had to move out on Wednesday because the uncle needs his houses earlier than agreed. That's why we women and children went to the kindergarten with Diak.
When the majority of the children had arrived, the day began with sports and games in the fresh air. Diak's volunteer assistant has been sick for some time now, so he is again forced to teach the children's group completely through frontal teaching. This is exclusively a game of patience for the little ones, they don't understand French, they can't write or read on the blackboard yet. Just watch and wait until it's time for a break and time to play... That's when some of them fall asleep. 😜
Once we arrived at our beautiful new accommodation, we received Sylvia's positive PCR test result for Corona on Thursday. She wanted to fly back with her children and colleague on Saturday. Coughing, sore throat, headache, and a day in bed... That's been the symptomatology for many in the group since December 31st. The numerous rapid tests we then conducted did not diminish the hope that it was a mistake. So extended holidays for Sylvia, obtaining an official test result for Fams, and the consolation was at least that they are exempt in Germany as recovered - at least for 6 months.
On Friday, we brought a little Hakuna Matata home and celebrated my birthday with dancing and fun.
