Lincoln Beach - Relaxing at the Pacific (Day 2)

Foillsichte: 23.08.2019

Wednesday 27.06.

Two miles from our hotel is a small outlet that I visit this morning and do a little shopping there, but I'm already sitting on the beach at 12:30pm.

Today the Tide Pools are not very fruitful, but the sea anemones are there and open up when they are washed with water.

I see small hermit crabs and other critters in the water. My beach chair delights me again. It's just nicer to sit in the chair and have an overview than to lie on the hard beach.

The beach is busier today than yesterday, although each person still has about 150 square meters of space, but there are more people today than yesterday. At 15:00, G. returns from her walk, I fetch the car and the umbrella down to the beach and now we have good wind protection. We found the umbrella recently at Yale Lake when we unexpectedly couldn't get to Mount St. Helens and spent the afternoon at this lake.

Today is supposed to be 85°F, which is just under 30°C, but this super cold wind gives us a different impression, and we sit quite far towards the cliff in the hope that it is a bit more sheltered there. But without a fleece jacket with a hood and long pants plus shoes, it's no good. Still very beautiful.

At 18:00 we leave and go to Kyllo's for dinner, where we actually sit outside in the evening sun and enjoy salad and Budweiser. Watch the sunset from the balcony one last time - today even without clouds. We haven't had such a sunny day in a week and a half! I weigh my big bag, which still has room at 19.5kg. The small one is much lighter anyway, as I have thrown away a lot of clothes since we arrived, after I had worn them.
