Today we visited Casa Loma, a castle-like mansion. The construction of this property was completed in 1914. At the time, it was the largest private residence in North America with its 98 rooms. During the Second World War, secret research on sonar devices was carried out at Casa Loma. Even today, the building is still very impressive, not least due to the accessibility of two secret passages and a connecting tunnel from the property to a building outside the property, which served as the residence of the builder of Casa Loma before its completion. Casa Loma has also served as the backdrop for almost 100 film productions, including titles such as X-Men , Babynator, Maximum Risk, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Chicago , The Tuxedo and Crimson Peak. Unfortunately, access to the property's garden was limited today as preparations for a big Halloween spectacle are underway.
We then drove to Lake Ontario, through which the border between Canada and America runs and whose size is approximately the same as that of the federal state of Rhineland-Palatinate. On the way to Lake Onatrio we also took a close look at the 553 m high “CN Tower” television tower.
