Hello!! We have completely changed our plan, we have been driving further and further north. Always little by little, meaning from one free camping place to the next. But now.... we have met super lovely people (from Germany) who we have so much joy with, that we have all decided to travel together for a bit. Unfortunately, the two of them will be flying away in a few days. But until then, we are enjoying it and laughing our souls out. These are our new Skip-Bo competitors. But if you saw us play, you would know it's more of a chat session. We chat and chat into the night, exchange experiences, talk about the past or simply enjoy the view of the incredible starry sky. Since the two will be flying back from Auckland, we will be traveling back to Auckland with them and then for us (unless something AMAZING! crosses our plan again) to the South Island. Alessa and I have thought about it for a long time and realized already during the thinking process that as long as it's warmer, we would like to explore the South Island together. We don't feel so comfortable in the North right now. Don't get me wrong, it's beautiful here! But we notice that we are drawn more to the South Island and in the winter more to the North, where it's also the warmest. Last night, it was rather cool for our standards and all four of us froze our toes off. That made us realize once again that the winter on the South Island is quite chilly. So we prefer to explore the beaches, hiking trails, nature... in the mild summer until autumn. At the moment, we are very aware of what it means to trust our gut feeling. The good thing is: our gut feeling is pretty much often identical and thus makes our further journey quite easy. Unfortunately, I'm having difficulties transferring my pictures to the laptop, so I can hardly show any pictures:( Maybe you can see some things on Google. Since the last update, we have been to Auckland, for a day for our bank account (where everything went well!). From Auckland to Whangaparaoa, then to Orewa, further to Algies Bay, the next day up to Snells Beach and then we received joyful messages on Instagram and drove down to Orewa again. It is one of our favorite places so far and it suited us quite well. Now we are sitting in a library and uploading everything, as well as using the internet. Alfrida (the car) has already been with us for 763.8 km and we are far from tired or bored. We look forward to being able to report more soon. Enjoy the moment wherever you are right now and we send you hugs! Until then, Alessa & Sofie. PS: Our new hobby is to weave macrame in various shapes and colors, it will probably be among the pictures today :)
