Day 8 - Christoffel Mountain & National Park

Day 8 (8/13/23)

Sunday - all the beaches are probably completely overcrowded today and cruise ships are probably in the harbor. We therefore decide to spend a day in the villa. At least half of us do. The husband and his daughter set off early in the morning (to avoid the extreme heat - a feat - it was already +29 degrees at 7 a.m.) towards the Christoffel National Park (http://www.christoffelpark.org/), around the Christoffel Mountain, which at 372 meters is the highest point on the island. It's too hot for my son and I, so we chill out by the pool in the morning and wait until the rest of the family members come home around midday - with a few photos in their luggage.

The climb was strenuous and quite exhausting given the temperatures. I'm glad I didn't go.

We stay in the villa for the rest of the day and chill by the pool.

The temperatures climb to +35 degrees at midday – too hot to do anything.
