From Seesen to Hannoversch Münden

Today the weather was not an issue. There was no rain forecasted nor excessive heat. Only the prevailing south wind (and therefore headwind) was a bit annoying. In addition, we had to tackle the first significant uphill sections. From Seesen, we first went to Northeim in the Leine Valley and then followed the Leine-Heide Cycle Path to Göttingen. We have already ridden this section once before in 2018 on our North-South tour. In Göttingen, we took a detour to the city center. The Weender Straße was bustling with life. A visit to Kron and Lanz failed due to a lack of available outdoor seating. After a short visit to Gänseliesel, we quickly left the pedestrian zone and had our lunch break on the shady city wall. Afterwards, we continued our journey to Hannoversch Münden, where we had to conquer the first notable climbs, giving us a taste of what awaits us in the next few days. However, we were rewarded with a long descent into the Werra Valley, where I was very grateful for my well-functioning brakes. Tomorrow's tour will probably be a bit longer than planned, as there is absolutely no accommodation available in the originally planned destination of Frielendorf. We will likely head to Schwalmstadt.
