New Year's Eve in Buenos Aires, yippee! We spent a week in Argentina's capital city. Some love the city, others not so much. "Buenos Aires is very European" is often heard. Maybe that's why I liked the city so much, maybe that's why I felt so comfortable. Relaxing in the park with a book in the afternoon, sitting outside on warm summer nights - it felt like home. We strolled through the beautiful neighborhoods of Palermo and La Roca, surrounded by Tango and Argentine flair.
In our hostel, a shared mate tea group quickly formed. So we sat together in the evenings, drank the Argentine hot beverage, and talked, laughed, and played cards.
We spent New Year's Eve in a disco, supposedly the biggest party in Buenos Aires. The streets were very quiet, we didn't even see any fireworks.
We took advantage of the new days in the year to soak up some sun and warmth. Soon we will continue further south in Argentina.
