Summer party in Barcelona

Publié: 06.07.2019

With a slightly guilty conscience, I arrived in Barcelona on Thursday evening (4th July). While I would be enjoying myself at our summer team event in this cult city, Robert was on an unplanned (Hungary-Zagreb)-Vienna-Berlin-Vienna-Hungary tour to pick up the children's passports that we had foolishly forgotten in Falkensee...

Our dinner was served on the rooftop terrace of the H10 Montcada Hotel with a breathtaking view of Barcelona.

There were two bars and many good conversations, and before I knew it, it was 2:30 or 3 o'clock when I fell exhausted into bed.

On Friday morning, our CC meeting took place, followed by a fun eScooter tour of the city. However, the guides could hardly say anything about the attractions, other than that they were mostly built by Gaudi... 🛴☀️🤷🏻‍♀️

In the early afternoon, we arrived at Red Fish (a dreamy location right by the sea), where we had a delicious tapas lunch and chilled out.

Now came the (water) sports part of our summer party, and we divided our group into two teams of about 15 people each, who could demonstrate their speed in double kayaking, stand-up paddling, and moving on the big sup.

We quickly agreed that the big sup - a giant surfboard on which up to 10 people could paddle while kneeling or standing - was our favorite.

With loud cheering, we playfully capsized, swung paddles, and nearly ran over topless swimmers... 😯🏄🏼‍♂️🏊🏻‍♀️

Of course, no one stayed dry, and we had a lot of fun.

In the end, there was a champagne shower and a trophy for the proud winning team, and a few cool cervezas...

After a quick shower and change of clothes at the hotel, we met in the evening at Pez Vela, also near the beach. Here, we were spoiled with excellent food (the wild fish was incredible) and good service.

To finish off, we had a few delicious cocktails on the terrace, and when Marius walked around with the legendary vodka/rum shot trays and even handed out free passes to the W Hotel bar, I quickly left the event, which will surely be remembered fondly.

My flight back to Zagreb was at 10:30 the next morning, so I was glad that I was in bed by 2:30 am (I was taken to the hotel by bicycle rickshaw).

By the way, as I checked out in the morning around 7:30 am, my colleague Claus was coming towards me after an obviously successful night of clubbing...
