The last part of my Myanmar trip took me to the southeast of the country. I took a train to the Golden Rock, a sacred rock held by only a single hair of Buddha - at least according to legend...
On the following day, we continued to Hpa-An. The landscape here is characterized by karst mountains, rice fields, and numerous caves. After a day of rest, we explored the surroundings by motorbike the next day. First, we climbed Mount Zwegabin for 1.5 hours. When we reached the top, we were surrounded by clouds. We had a window of 15 minutes to take some snapshots.
In the afternoon, we visited the caves. The most impressive was the bat cave, where hundreds of thousands of bats flew out at sunset.
Since my visa expired after 28 days, it was time for me to leave the country and take the night bus to Bangkok. From there, my flight took me to my next travel destination....
