Today we had a relatively short but super relaxed night at Danielle's in Santa Barbara, which we unfortunately didn't meet in person because we arrived very late last night and left early this morning.
We spent today mainly driving! Because the way from L.A to San Francisco is quite a ride, especially if you, like us, don't take the highway but the coastal road Highway 1.
Therefore, there is not much to report about today, but the drive so far on Highway 1 has been a treat for the eyes, as the entire road runs parallel to the Pacific and is really a nice change from the long and crowded highways.
Here we could admire really beautiful bays and cliff sections, but unfortunately it was a bit cloudy, so the perfect sunset today fell through. But the coast really offers some very beautiful spots and we stopped everywhere to take new pictures, so we only made slow progress.
We didn't set a specific goal for today, but we planned to spend 1-2 nights somewhere on Highway 1, which turned out to be not that easy today because Saturdays are almost fully booked.
So after a long search, we finally ended up in Salinas, about 30 minutes away from Monterey, a town that we plan to visit tomorrow anyway.
San Francisco is getting closer and closer to us.
