Tag 270 - Bonjour Mexique 

Bonjour tout le monde !
Incredible, but we are back after a very long blog pause  A lot has changed - for us and around the world. We have been very lucky, as we now have our own business and great joy in our work. For this reason, we are not traveling for months this time, but for 3.5 weeks . Yesterday, on Friday evening, we set off and drove with our car to Basel. There we spent the night and left early in the morning for the airport. Via Frankfurt, we finally headed towards Cancun!!! In Frankfurt, we met Roman and Tiziana, who were also traveling to Mexico by coincidence but were staying at another accommodation  On the plane, we watched one movie after another, sleep was out of the question. We flew throughout the day, it was uncomfortable and we were a bit nervous  After landing, we were both completely exhausted from the long journey and at the same time very excited  We had to wait quite a while for our luggage, and Roman and Tiziana's did not arrive at all! It must have been stuck in Frankfurt and will only arrive the following evening... The poor two have nothing at the moment - no clothes, no charger, nothing... After we grabbed our luggage (or did not), our paths separated. Our friends had a transfer to the airport and we to our car rental. It took a while to find the right transfer bus, but the Mexicans at the airport helped us as best they could. Everyone was very helpful and friendly! At the car rental, it was again: stand in line and wait. It took quite a long time again, and suddenly the car was CHF 500.- (!) more expensive than booked! You needed a special insurance in Mexico, otherwise, there is no car... By now, we were really exhausted and would probably have paid any amount just to finally get to our accommodation! After another hour and 15 minutes of driving, we finally reached our destination! Our bungalow is incredibly cute and right by the sea! We sat there for a while, chatting and torn between 'incredibly tired and completely excited'  After being awake for just over 25 hours (local time 1 am), we finally went to sleep  Excited for the next day and the start of our vacation, we fell asleep satisfied  So, you will hear from us again tomorrow
