Sunday 15.03.
We drove to the Salar de Uyuni at 8 o'clock, the largest salt flat on Earth, with a length of 140 km. Although we were only at the beginning of the flat, it was impressive. After that, we continued to La Paz. The gasoline in Bolivia is of lower quality than in Argentina. It only has about 86 octane. Therefore, Egidio's Transalp has been having problems for days. He can hardly go faster than 60 km. Ecki's KTM has also had performance problems, but at the moment, it is running well. Now Marco Monachelli's KTM has also been hit. It doesn't start anymore. All attempts have failed. So, it goes into the baggage van with it. That means Marco Veronese will have work again in La Paz tomorrow. The weather on the way is very changeable, sometimes short but heavy rain showers, then sun again. Some pictures show red, yellow, or green plantations. This is the so-called Andean rice, quinoa.
On the way, Dawide's clutch cable broke. In the middle of La Paz, Celestino's clutch cable also broke. It had to be repaired on site in the evening traffic, as we could no longer transport a bike in the van. Dawide somehow managed to get by without a clutch.
