Now we continued to Las Vegas, the city of gamblers. Here at the Venetian there was a complete Italian city with sky inside a hotel or the Luxor Pyramid, the Statue of Liberty or the Eiffel Tower to admire. As impressive as it all was, it was overshadowed by poverty and drug-addicted or alcohol-dependent people sleeping on the streets. You can smell the marijuana on every corner and you only feel really safe in the hotels and casinos. That's why we only spent one day here and then continued to Death Valley.
But our campsite was outside the city and very beautiful, so we noticed again how small our RV actually is compared to the camping buses of the Americans. It's truly incredible how huge these things are and some even have a trailer or a car that they drag along. To be fair, you have to say that quite a few people actually live in these things and have no other home anymore. There are also many campers on the campsites, especially retirees.
