Done on Monday. The temperatures here inland are on a completely different level. My (Isi) cell phone showed 37°C today. After we were able to enjoy a typical local breakfast this morning (rice pudding with coconut milk, filled with caramelized coconut), we took the TukTuk to the clinic to get to know everyone. First we were allowed to choose work clothes from two huge suitcases and then the race began. Dr. Samantha Kumara runs from room to room - there are 4 of them, some with several treatment chairs - and does explanations, fillings, fixed braces, pulls teeth...sometimes the gloves just continue to be used ;)...and we follow behind.
In between there was a tea break with cake and at 2 p.m. we were able to have lunch with two other interns. The temperature and the spicy food together were almost unbearable - after all, the chili from Sri Lanka is said to be the hottest in Asia. Anyone who knows me knows that I'm not that good at it. Feli, on the other hand, is very enthusiastic about it.
Afterwards we were able to stock up in the supermarket so we could look after ourselves in the open kitchen.
Then take the TukTuk home and finally cool off in the pool. Have a nice evening!
