Update 28. 02.
Yesterday we could sleep in and have a leisurely breakfast before we were picked up for surfing at 12:20.
After all participants were collected from various campsites and hostels, we headed to Lennox Head Beach. This 7-mile-long beach had enough space for all of us.
After practicing how to properly stand on the board to be able to surf the wave, we quickly got into the water. So there we stood with our surfboards, feeling quite helpless in the waves. Occasionally, one of the instructors would choose a wave and help us. Most of the time it worked, but the rest of the time we spent in the water or falling off 😂
In the evening, we went to the center of the small surfer town Byron Bay and enjoyed an ice cream on the beach.
Today, on 01.03., we got up earlier and strolled through the shops. However, at an absolute snail's pace, because our muscles were definitely overworked from the 2-3 hours in the water the day before.
I have no idea how we managed another surf lesson with our muscle soreness, but today we were lucky to be only three of us on the second day. While everyone else had to do dry exercises, after a short refresher with two of the instructors, we were allowed to go straight into the water. With constant support, it worked great despite tired arms and legs. ☺️
At some point, our strength was simply exhausted. But the surf lesson was already over and as soon as we got back to the camper, we just laid down on the picnic blanket and rested.
We treated ourselves to sushi for dinner. However, the way to the city center felt much longer than yesterday :D
