Je me retrouve donc à l'aéroport avec mon monde dans un sac à mes côtés... ça commence enfin. Tout ce que j'ai maintenant tient dans mon sac à dos ! J'ai longtemps travaillé...

'Down Under? Where is that?' At the other end of the world! I’m sitting at Hong Kong airport, excited and full of ambition. Australia is just a 'stone's throw' away! Only 4 seats just for me!? Then let's turn on the music, stretch my legs, close my eyes, and good morning Sydney!

In 9 hours I'll be there... Finally arrived, the Australian sun is almost burning the rest of my still scanty hair away. Completely aimless, only armed with a small map, I head toward my hostel, utterly tired. Kingscross is known for its partying, so I'm in the right place at Kingscross Backpackers.

After what feels like 20 hours waiting for my room, I'm off to the rooftop terrace. Who do I run into first? Germans! How could it be otherwise... We are everywhere, but the Brits are too! Beer pong to warm up and then off into Sydney's nightlife. $20 entry and an hour later I'm standing alone in front of the club. The doorman thought I had taken drugs and had overindulged... well the second part is true, but no chance I'm staying outside. So off home to bed!

There’s this famous architectural masterpiece that looks like a huge collection of shells!? The Sydney Opera House. There perhaps isn’t a more famous opera house in the world. Interesting, but one imagines it to be much bulkier and larger...
