Hike to Bamboo Fall - Grenada (on the Royal Clipper through the Caribbean)

We arrived in Grenada at noon and anchored off the capital, St. George’s.

First, we set off on foot to explore the city a bit.

We noticed how crowded the city was and how chaotically the traffic maneuvered through the narrow streets.

The day before Christmas Eve, many seemed to be out and about to get their last gifts.

On the way back, we passed by the market, where many spices were offered, including the nutmeg that Grenada is famous for.

Back at the cruise terminal, we waited at the pier until our booked excursion began.

We took a small bus through narrow and winding roads to the hike. 

This led us across the grounds of a plantation, where we saw nutmeg still in the fruit on the tree.

The guide told us a lot about the local plants and their uses. 

The hike was particularly adventurous because we had to cross two rivers along the way, which unfortunately had no bridges.

So, a rope was stretched for us to hold onto, and we waded through water that was sometimes knee-deep.

Shortly after, we reached Bamboo Fall, a beautiful waterfall where some people were swimming.

We decided to admire the water from the outside - after all, we had already cooled our feet.

We returned the same way.

Along the way, we saw a monkey that was swinging high above us in a tree.

During the winding drive, we made a stop at Grand Etang Lake to take some photos.

Back at the port, we strolled a bit through the shopping mall right at the cruise terminal and then returned to the ship.
