Today we were in the center of power, namely in the Capitol directly. We had a guided tour and it had a lot to offer historically.
First we got to see a 13 minute film, everything from the beginning to today and a lot of drama around it, they can do that. Then the guided tour and even if you don't understand all the stories and jokes, it's just super impressive to be there and see it. What details have been processed and how big everything is here. What we didn't know, for example, is that Washington is a completely made-up and newly created city. It was built for this purpose only, to represent the seat of government. It's also divided into four squares and the Capitol is right in the middle. Pretty crazy.
Anyway, we also spent our last day finding out about space travel, because of course there is the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum here and there are space suits from the moon landing and real moon rovers and satellites and whatever. Once again, you can't even grasp what's being shown. Definitely great.
Tonight we enjoy our last evening in a nice restaurant and tomorrow we fly to Florida...
