Tomorrow morning, Nadine and I are going to Helsinki for a World Championship match. On our way to the hostel, we already saw some Swiss fans in the city, but we couldn't have imagined what awaited us at the stadium. There were so many Swiss fans that it felt like a home game. The stadium was sold out and the atmosphere was incredible. They put on an amazing show with trains, Swiss guards, cows, and even two older men wearing fondue hats on their heads. By chance, I even saw someone from Switzerland that I hadn't seen in 5 years. The match itself was very exciting and we ended up winning 6-3. Every goal was celebrated with a fantastic dance, and at the end, we were showered with nuts from Bümpliz. I even sang the national anthem twice that day. I haven't heard so much Swiss German in a long time, it was almost a shock 😂 There were a lot of drunk men at the match, and one guy in a sparkling Swiss suit even fell on top of me after the first goal. By the way, the beer was almost 9 Francs for a small bottle. After the match, we sang and danced outside and then we all sang the national anthem again. In the evening, the Swiss fans were everywhere in the city. We went to have a meal and then went out with a Belgian guy who is studying in Jyväskylä. The next morning, we had very little sleep (partly because my roommate in the hostel was snoring like a chainsaw), and then I took the train back home. It was a really cool weekend and definitely the best hockey match I've ever attended).
