Bandhavgarh 2024

Notre année sabbatique est malheureusement terminée, mais notre envie de voyager n'est pas apaisée. Hesse propose cette année trois semaines de vacances de Pâques, et nous avons décidé de retourner voir les tigres indiens (et ensuite d'aller faire du snorkeling aux Maldives). D'après nos expériences d'il y a 10 mois, nous avons recommencé au parc national de Bandhavgarh. Nous avons réalisé 6 sorties d'observation, où nous n'avons pas vu de tigres 2 fois. Cependant, nous avons eu 2 très bonnes observations, et les 2 autres fois étaient plutôt moyennes. Au total, nous avons vu 8 tigres dans le parc national de Bandhavgarh cette fois (4 adultes, 2 jeunes, 2 petits) et bien sûr beaucoup d'autres animaux.
Comme nous étions ici un peu plus tôt dans l'année que la dernière fois, il ne faisait pas aussi chaud - la température maximale quotidienne était souvent juste en dessous de 40°C, et le matin, une couverture dans le véhicule safari ouvert était encore très appréciée.

Our gap year is unfortunately over, but we are still keen on traveling. This year, Marions Easter holidays are 3 weeks long, and we decided to repeat the visit to the Indian tigers and to go snorkeling on the Maldives afterwards. Based on our expiriences from 10 months ago, we started in the Bandhavgarh National Park again - this time going on 6 safari trips into the forest. On two of these trips we did not see any tigers at all. While two of the other trips were rather average, on the remaining two trips we had very impressive sightings. Overall we saw 8 tigers in Bandhavgarh (4 adults, 2 subadults, 2 juveniles), and of course a lot of other animals as well.
As this time we were here earlier in the year, the temperature has not been as hot as last time where we usually had about 40° celsius. This time, a warm blanket in the open safari jeeps was very welcome in the mornings, whilest at noon the 40 was again in reach.
