From Bora Bora, we first flew back to Papeete on Tahiti. To bridge the 4-hour wait for the ferry ride to Moorea (it was Sunday again and all shops were closed), we went to a pub near the port at 10 o'clock. And before we knew it, the wait escalated into a lively morning gathering. The whole pub and half of the neighborhood were filled with music from Cologne, yes, now even in Papeete they know the Wolkenplatz.
After a relatively calm ferry ride, we squeezed ourselves and all our luggage into our small rental car, it was the only available vehicle on the island. Our exclusive and beautiful villa was located beautifully on the green mountainside with a whirlpool on the large terrace and a view of the sea.
Unfortunately, the weather during our stay wasn't always good, but we still diligently explored the island: short hikes to viewpoints, probably illegal sneaking around the Intercontinental Hotel to see dolphins and turtles, a traditional Polynesian show with dinner at the Tiki Village...
Unfortunately, the whirlpool didn't have the desired temperature, so Grandma Karin had to constantly boil and refill water. But the beer always had the desired temperature and was served by Grandpa Werner.
Even on our last day on Tahiti, the weather spoiled our plans, so we decided to explore Papeete again. After a tiring but successful shopping tour, of course, we all needed refreshment. And it promptly came in the form of a beer tower, well, in the end, it was probably three emptied beer towers. We drank, danced, laughed, and also introduced the Tahitians to Kölsch music again. The travel group La Bomba once again gave everything and even more!
