We have spent the past few days relaxing in Byron Bay. My expectations for this small town were high, but they were fully met. A cute hippie town where walking barefoot in a bikini is the norm.
On the first day, we went to the lighthouse, where you have a breathtaking view of the ocean. Unfortunately, the weather was not too good on that day, the sky was covered and there were occasional rain showers. Nevertheless, we hiked up there and on the way back down, we stopped at a lookout point and actually saw dolphins!🐬😍 a dream come true! We then went back to the town and wandered through the streets.
On the next day, I decided to go back to town, treated myself to a fantastic breakfast in a super nice café, and strolled through the streets. Yesterday, on our last day in Byron Bay, we had to make the most of the great weather and spent the whole day at the beach. ☀️
Today, we continued our journey, unfortunately in pouring rain... we have now left the state of New South Wales and are heading to Queensland. Our first destination was Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast, and the name is well-deserved. A paradise for surfers, but it was also worth it for me to walk through the shopping street😉👙👛. Unfortunately, the weather spoiled our plans and we couldn't spend much time outside or at the beach. We then drove to the next campsite, set up our tent, and now I'm lying inside listening to the raindrops pattering on the tent. 🙈
If the weather is good tomorrow, we want to watch the surfing world championship🏄🏼♀️🏄🏼♂️ and afterwards, if there's still time, visit the next national park.
Greetings from Down Under
