Despite everything, I slept well last night. Because I achieved a big goal and, more importantly, I am healthy and happy. But somehow also happy 😊 and I am looking forward to going home.
Since I got up in the morning without any major goals, I had time for breakfast. It was very unusual without a distant goal in mind. I tried to get a rental car that I could have dropped off in Geneva. Unfortunately, that was impossible; the car rental companies are probably too small, even if there are well-known names like Hertz. Taking the train is not an option for me without help. On the one hand, the bike is much too heavy and on top of that, there are three pieces of luggage in addition to the backpack. How am I supposed to get that onto the train? All I can do is wait for André with the car.
So when I wanted to extend my stay at the hotel, I found out that the hotel was fully booked because of an event. Luckily, I found another one 600 meters away. But that meant packing everything up and lugging all the bulky luggage over. The bike bags are great, but they're made for bikes.
Shortly after 10 a.m. I was back at the bike shop and picked up my dirty and broken bike. I can't patch it, but I can clean it. Right next to my path was a car wash with a manual washing facility.
Then I walked to Carcassonne Cité, the medieval city that is also inhabited. I had already been there on my houseboat vacation. But I had never been to the castle. I had already bought the entrance ticket at the hotel and was able to go straight in without having to wait. There was a long line of people waiting in front of the ticket office.
Afterwards, I enjoyed the three-course menu du jour in one of the countless restaurants. Rating: very good. I also wanted to visit the old cathedral, which you can even enter for free.
Afterwards I went to the lower old town and back to the hotel, where I was able to move into my new room.
More than 24 hours after my breakdown, I can see a lot of positive things. Click on the map at the beginning of the blog. There you can see the Iberian Peninsula and a photo for each blog entry. So we've almost come full circle. Each individual picture represents a day of what was a great trip for me. And there aren't many people my age who would still be able to do something like that, let alone get through it. I'm grateful to God and to life that I was able to do it. So tomorrow I'll return home happy and content, taking home tons of memories that I wouldn't want to miss.

All in all, I still sleep well. Because he has a big objective and the most important thing is that you are healthy and happy. But in some ways it's also happy 😊 and I have a lot of chances to stay at home.
Like I lifted myself up for the morning without big goals, just breakfast time. Completely unnecessary without a clear mental objective. Intended to rent a car that could have been left in Geneva. Thankfully this was impossible, car rental companies were probably being neglected, even if there were names known like Hertz. Taking the train is not an option for me without help. On the one hand, the bike was overloaded and, along with the backpack, there were also three suitcases. How do I assume that you are taking this on the train? The only thing we have to do is wait for Andre in the car.
Then, when I wanted to extend my stay at the hotel, I discovered that the hotel had been completely booked today because of an event. Luckily I found another one 600 meters away. But it means packing everything and loading the whole bulky suitcase. The bike bags are great, but they are made for the bike.
About 10 minutes after that I went back to the bike shop and picked up my bike, clean and wheeled. The pad can be parked but it can be cleaned and worked. Just on the side of my road there is a washing tunnel with manual washing options.
I walked through Carcassonne Cité, the medieval city that is also inhabited. Spend my holidays in a floating house. But now he is in the castle. Buy the entrance to the hotel and you can enter immediately without expecting. The people's cup puts a cup in front of the box.
After peacefully enjoying the day's menu of three dishes in one of the countless restaurants. Rating: very good. I also want to visit the old cathedral, which including the one you can get into without paying anything.
After taking off my old helmet and returning to the hotel, I could easily get to my new room.
More than 24 hours after my crisis, I also see a lot of positive things. Click on the map at the start of the blog. I see the Iberian Peninsula and a photo for each blog entry. So that everything has closed the circle. Each picture also represents for me a day of a long trip. And not many people of my age accept anything like that, and much less support. Thank you God for the life that I can still do this. So I returned home tomorrow happy and satisfied and took me home with memories that I don't want to lose.
