Étretat and Deauville are sightseeing places that are no longer secret tips in the age of global information.
Étretat is characterized by its impressive cliffs and a remarkable pebble beach. Many tourists apparently had the idea of taking a few of the round things home as souvenirs - the city counters with prohibition signs so that the beach doesn't become history. Claude Monet was also fascinated by this setting - see uploaded picture.
Deauville is an elegant seaside resort with a marina, racecourse, villas, and a very wide sandy beach - everything Mr. and Mrs. Rich need to be happy.
Today we were glad that we had our bikes with us. We parked the car outside the towns and quickly rode the bikes a few kilometers to the hotspots.
Today we made acquaintance again with the infamous unfriendly French waiters.
We just wanted to have a drink, but sat in the area of the half-empty restaurant that apparently, marked with a checkered paper tablecloth, was reserved for dining. The waitress informed us with a disgusted expression that we wouldn't get our drinks here - so we had to change tables. As a reward, we got sweet wine that would have gone well with a foie gras 😂😂😂 magnificent - we had our fun.
